Diversity by Design

Studies have shown the correlation between diversity and innovation. Yet Silicon Valley, the cradle of tech innovation, is dominated by a “brogrammer” culture where white guys in their 20s work in a testosterone-fueled environment to create the next technology revolution.
This sends a contradictory message to leaders that diversity, while good in theory, is not worth investing in.

In this talk, Janaki Kumar will share her personal experience as a design leader who values and fosters diversity in her teams. She will make the case that working in a diverse team is delightful, and the benefits outweigh the effort. She will leave you with practical tips to build and nurture diversity by design.
