What are the conventions and myths we encounter daily in our vocabulary, during research and synthesis, or when problem-solving? How can we counter convention to achieve the future we imagine? Asking the right questions and developing emotional and cognitive empathy help remind us that users––by whatever name you call them: customer, member––are still people with unique thinking styles. We need to balance “Science” with Person-Focused Research.
