Speak up and have your ideas heard! Join our 8-week program to learn how to craft compelling presentations and speak (up) with confidence. Work alongside a supportive cohort while learning on your own time.
At Women Talk Design, we believe that your voice needs to be heard: in meetings, on stage, and in the articles and books that we read. Sharing your ideas can help you find your people, progress in your career, and make a change.
Since 2017, Women Talk Design workshops have given women and nonbinary people the space to learn, practice, and grow as public speakers. The Present Yourself program is designed to teach you a framework that you can use over and over again to create more compelling, effective presentations. You will also learn to identify your unique needs as a speaker so that you can present with confidence.
We believe in the power of showing up for ourselves and for one another – and that philosophy is at the center of this program. You’ll work alongside a supportive cohort to get feedback and support every step of the way.
The program has been redesigned to let you learn on your own time, while still providing you with a community and speaking coach support to ask questions, get feedback, and improve.

If you are currently employed, we encourage you to ask your company for reimbursement for the Present Yourself program. Need some support asking your boss to sponsor you to take the program?
Here's a sneak peek at what you'll learn each week.
Why should you speak? How do you identify your own personal why and why does it matter? We'll start the program answering these key questions and getting introduced to the cohort.
Throughout the program, you'll be crafting a 5-minute presentation that you will present live in the last week. In this session, we'll discuss how to identify topics that matter and how to quiet that voice in your head that may be working against you.
Storytelling is at the heart of great public speaking. Learn why storytelling matters, how to tell a compelling story, and how to incorporate story into your presentations.
How should you structure an effective presentation? In this session, we'll discuss what to include in your talk and how you can structure your presentation for the biggest impact.
In this session, we'll talk about how to use mechanics effectively in your presentation. Learn how to pull your audience in, carry them through your presentation, and achieve your presentation goals.
Here, we're focusing on you as a public speaker. Learn how to prepare before a presentation, calm your nerves, and show up confidently you. We'll talk about what to do when something goes wrong and how to stay present during your presentation.
As you spend all this time developing your ideas, you want to make sure the world can hear them. In this session, we'll talk about how to share your ideas widely, including where to look for opportunities and how to land them.
This program is all about putting what you learn into action. Throughout the 8-weeks, you'll work on developing a presentation that you'll deliver to a group of your cohort peers and get feedback. We'll also set goals for what comes next.
By signing up, you agree to show up, put in the work, and support your cohort. This program is a commitment both to yourself and to your fellow cohort members. We'll introduce you to tools that you can use throughout your career, give you time and space to reflect and practice, and connect you with a community to help hold you accountable, cheer you on, and offer you feedback to help you improve.
Over the 8 weeks of the program you will:
Work alongside a community that will be cheering you on, offering feedback, and helping hold you accountable to your goals.

“Women Talk Design has given me the confidence and the tools to craft a compelling talk. Most importantly, WTD has taught me that my personal perspective is worthy of sharing. I'm so happy I made the decision to attend the Remote Speaking Workshop."

Self-Guided modules
The program is made up of self-guided modules that you’ll gain access to each week. The modules are made up of videos (featuring guest speakers), readings, activities, and assignments. You can work through these modules on your own time and you should be prepared to spend about 1-3 hours a week doing so.
Weekly live sessions
Each week, you’ll have access to a one-hour live session. During this session, you’ll have the opportunity to pair up with your cohort peers to share where you are in your presentation progress and ask for feedback and support. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions to a public speaking coach.
Community
Throughout the program, you'll be connected with your fellow cohort members in a private channel to share your assignments, ask questions, and cheer each other on. You'll also have the chance to get feedback from them during the weekly live session and your final presentation.
Alumni Check-in
Four weeks after your program ends, we'll host an alumni check-in. This is open to all past Present Yourself alumni and we'll use this time to check in on your goals. We believe this program is just one part of your journey and we want to make sure we stay in touch and support you along the way.
Do you want to help provide access to individuals to enroll in the Present Yourself cohort that wouldn’t be able to afford to otherwise? Donate a seat! Your donation will go directly to our scholarship program to support women and nonbinary people who are currently unemployed, a full-time caretaker or student, self-employed, or who cannot secure employer sponsorship and would not be able to afford to pay the tuition out of pocket.
Women Talk Design is on a mission to see a more diverse group of speakers on stage. We elevate the voices of women and nonbinary folks through our free directory, curate resources for event organizers on designing more inclusive events, and facilitate workshops and events to help individuals speak up and be heard.
Community is at the heart of everything we do.
