With 30 years working as a full-stack designer/developer, strategy, research, IA, visual & interaction design, front-end development, Jennifer came to design & development through a non-establishment / non-academia route, through self-study via workshops, books, and hands-on work in industry, non-profits, start-ups, and government. Their focus on equitable design & accessibility are rooted in that route, as that is often not included in academic design environments. Their focus on equity and accessibility cause the establishment designers to view them as an “accessibility specialist,” rather than recognizing the commitment to include the full spectrum of human reality and deliver equitable outcomes. Jennifer has strong emancipatory research and radical participatory design experience with diverse audiences, from people with disabilities, international, and other demographics.
