As a learner and a connector, Katie enjoys untangling and simplifying complex systems in highly collaborative environments, and value the relationships she builds along the way.
She began her career in architecture, and for 10+ years organized teams and processes to bring her designs to life. From there, Katie shifted her focus to digital and moved into the role of UX producer at USAA, eventually producing their design operations team.
Katie now serves as the manager of H-E-B’s newly-formed design operations team. She leads a group of specialists who create and maintain the processes, technology, career growth, and design culture for a 60-person (and growing!) design organization. Katie is passionate about organizing the behind-the-scenes efforts necessary to ensure design teams have what they need to focus exclusively on creating beautiful, user-centered products.
Outside of work, Katie uses her organizing skills to help spearhead CreativeMornings in San Antonio, where she exercises her passion for building communities and helping others grow their own communities.
