Lis’s passion lies in helping great businesses whose aim is to enrich their customers’ lives. For the past 15 years, she has worked to create world class digital experiences by utilizing skills in both information architecture and user experience design. Today, she manages Hubert Experience Design, an information architecture consultancy she started in 2009, and whose client list includes Major League Baseball Advanced Media, NewsCorp, Viacom Media Networks, Samsung, ESPN, and Wiley Publishing.

In addition to starting HxD, Lis is a co-founder and lead facilitator of Design Thinking trainings at Design Think Labs (https://www.designthinklabs.com/). Here she guides organizational teams in building the human-centered connection between their business and their customers to create meaningful products & services for all.

Prior to starting HxD, Lis worked in-house to cultivate exceptional digital experiences for several Fortune 500 companies. Her work during this time included leading information architecture and user experience design efforts for the 4,500 page redesign of industry leader USAA’s website.

Lis has given talks and workshops around the world which help to educate and inspire others in her profession. Her latest passion is a discussion on the ethical crossroads for digital designers. She also teaches industry courses online for resources such as TeamTreehouse.com (https://teamtreehouse.com/).

In her “off” hours, Lis co-hosts the Adrift on Purpose podcast (http://www.adriftonpurpose.com/) which aims to explore how to live a life of choice versus a life of obligation.

Before it all began, Lis was a web programmer at national insurance leader The Hartford Financial Services Group based in Hartford, CT. She holds a Management Information Systems degree from the University of Connecticut School of Business.
