Maryann is a Senior Design Research and Product Design consultant based in Nairobi. She has over seven years of experience in the tech, entrepreneurship, social impact and startup ecosystem in Africa.
Her work cuts across different sectors; like tackling global challenges around reproductive health for women and girls, financial inclusion for low-income women, food and nutrition, early childhood development, and many more. In her previous role, Maryann worked as a senior design researcher at IDEO.org. Maryann has conducted design research projects in countries like; Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, and Rwanda.
She invests in the real relationship between design and business goals placing the end-user first in the design process. She loves creating products that engage, transforms, and inspire people.
She is also a community leader for one of the largest design communities in Nairobi (NDC) which curates events like panel discussions, fireside chats, portfolio reviews, and workshops. The goal is to share best practices and tips on how to maximize the power of design thinking to solve complex design challenges in Africa and beyond.
