
Abi Jones leads a team of designers and researchers in Google Health, an organization that works across a variety of medical specialities to dramatically improve the availability and accuracy of medical services, with a focus on cancer (breast, lung, prostate) and diabetic eye disease. Prior to joining Google’s research arm, Abi co-founded a startup within Area 120, Google’s internal incubator, and led design for products in Google’s Security & Privacy, Fiber, and Search teams. Her long-term focus is collaborative tools for people using machine-learning systems. Before joining Google, Abi designed products and services for MySpace, Ferrari, Samsung, and StubHub.
A longtime advocate of equity in education, Abi started her career as a 3rd grade teacher in the Rio Grande Valley as a Teach For America Corps member and now sits on the Board of Directors for the Santa Cruz Education Foundation.
Abi holds a Master’s degree in Instructional Design & Development from George Mason University and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Seattle University.
