Cindy Chastain is a seasoned design executive and transformation-oriented leader who works at the intersection of customer experience strategy, product innovation, brand, and business.
Hired as a change agent at Mastercard, Cindy grew design into a strategic function and successfully infused human-centered design in product lines spanning core credit, debit, digital payments, small business, commercial payments, and cyber & intelligence. Her team also led strategic design for an innovation portfolio worth over $800M in potential revenue. She drove new standards for product innovation, pioneered a suite of CX metrics that became enterprise mandates, improved design quality at scale, strengthened the capabilities of over 400 multi-disciplinary practitioners via a company-wide CX & Design Guild. Cindy also had the honor of leading the successful relaunch of the Mastercard brand identity and design language, which led to measurable shifts in customer and consumer perceptions, globally.
Prior to Mastercard, Cindy was an Executive Creative Director and CX consultant in the business transformation group at R/GA. She partnered with Nike to revolutionize the seasonal product development and GTM tooling for internal users and distribution partners. With Volvo, she led the digital strategy and execution for reinventing multiple touch points in the car owner’s journey. Other clients in her career include HP, Verizon, Walmart, GSK, BBC Worldwide, Showtime, Coca-Cola, Unilever, and HSBC.
