Luz Bratcher believes Design is one massive exercise in Hospitality: creating spaces and experiences where people feel like they belong. With nearly 20 years in the design industry, she’s held design roles from large corporations to startups, designing everything from storytelling apps, startup communities, software for laser cutters, even microwaves you can talk to (true story!). Through community work as a founding organizer for CreativeMornings: Seattle, a volunteer mentor for Hexagon UX and ADPList, she discovered that her passion wasn’t for making things, but making great designers instead. She joined School of Visual Concepts as an instructor, coach, and recruiter for the school’s public and design apprenticeship programs. Luz has recently launched a new business, Golden Repair, in which she provides workshop facilitation, culture design, and arts-based soul care.
