
Madonnalisa Chan has been involved in the IA/UX community for close to 20 years, from the early days of SF Happy Hour Meetups, speaking at content strategy Meetups and previous IA Summits, to helping found the IA Institute and Boxes & Arrows. She’s been independent for 15 years now in a variety of capacities, information architecture, content strategy, taxonomies, metadata development, implementation of CMS and enterprise search engines.
Madonnalisa has a traditional library science master’s degree, and focused on search engines, information structures such as metadata/taxonomies for content management and digital assets management, and very early on did interaction design for consumer and enterprise applications. She has taught Systems Thinking at the college level at California College of the Arts in SF and continues to mentor women in technology in Portland, OR.
