Melina McLarty is a user experience engineer and designer that loves to design simple, elegant, and fun experiences on top of complex and powerful systems. She has designed for many industries and domains, working for companies like Ford, UPS, IBM, and currently VMware.
At VMware, Melina spends her time designing user models and interactions for some of the company’s largest enterprise products, vSphere and vCloud Director. She also enjoys shaping the design process within the company and mentoring new hires and interns.
Melina has spoken about design process, product recommendations, and innovation to audiences of all sizes and demographics, including children. In 2012 she was voted best speaker at an internal innovation conference at VMware. She had pitched a forward-looking product recommendation to an audience of 1500 engineers and company leadership.
Melina holds a degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada.
