Michal Ziso is the founder of ZISO, an architecture firm combining innovation with human rights and gender equality ideas; and the founder + CEO of Mars is More, a platform that makes space accessible, collects data on spatial needs of diverse groups in the population and promotes idea sharing to create a movement of thought leaders who impact our future.
Michal is a visionary architect practicing for almost a decade in Israel and NYC, specializing in skyscrapers and urban renewal projects. A proud activist and avid traveller, Michal is inspired by cultures, diversity, and the various ways people use space on earth and beyond. She is a TEDx speaker and lecturer and her mission is to create a built environment that best fits the needs of its diverse users to ensure day to day functionality and well being, to change women experience and to challenge the status quo of gender based roles in society. She is determined to learn from earth’s spatial errors and to contribute to the built environment in space and on Mars.
Along with her everyday architectural and management work, Michal is collaborating with the Technion on a masterplan for Israel for the year 2048 – “Israel 100”, where she makes sure gender equality issues will be addressed in all aspects of the plan. Michal is active on raising awareness for gender and human equality on a daily basis through work with international organizations such as Global Citizen, UN SDG Action, EqualityNow and Change.org.
