Sarah is Head of Research and a Senior Lecturer at Media Design School in Auckland. Her research interests are focused on design and social justice, especially in relation to user experience, ethics, and critical design. She also has specific expertise in design ethnography, particularly multi-sensory and participatory methods. Her most recent projects ‘A Feminist Design Toolkit’, and ‘Behind Open Doors: Unboxing Gender By Design’, focus on challenging gender inequality through design. She is currently writing a book ‘Designing Gender: a Feminist Toolkit’ to be published by Bloomsbury.
