Soren Hamby is dedicated to fostering team diversity and inclusion while spearheading the transformation towards designing and building accessible products. With a BFA in Design from UAH, post-graduate and professional coursework at Cornell, Parson’s, and CUNY, and a wealth of experience in the field, Soren is a seasoned professional committed to making products more equitable.

As an accessibility subject matter expert and senior design leader, Soren focuses on building inclusive systems, communities, and products, all while cultivating diverse and interconnected teams. Soren’s passion for accessibility is evident through their involvement in various initiatives, including serving as a maintainer at The A11y Project, mentoring, and advising on accessibility and inclusion.

Throughout their career, Soren has collaborated with renowned organizations such as Google, Waymo, Verizon, Benjamin Moore, MRM//McCann, JPMorgan, InVision, Wunderman Thompson, E*Trade, and the Department of Defense’s Software Engineering Directorate. They have led numerous talks and workshops, sharing insights on product design and accessibility at industry conferences (AxeCon, Clarity) and internal events (Ace Hotels, Condé Nast, LinkedIn, Etsy, General Assembly).

They live in the lower Hudson Valley Area of New York, and in their free time, they often indulge their creative side by making scarves for everyone they know and creating weird, glowing art.
