Svetlana Kouznetsova is an independent consultant and accessibility trailblazer who is deaf. She is based in the NYC area. Sveta has worked with businesses for over 10 years to make their web, media, and events usable and accessible to more people. She has an MS degree in Internet Technology and 20 years of professional experience in design, tech, business, user experience, and accessibility. Sveta is also a founder of Audio Accessibility and provides consultation and training on quality captioning and other types of communication access to media and events. She is an international speaker and a book author. Sveta’s TEDx talk uncovers the benefits of captioning access that increase audience and ROI for businesses. She is a cochlear implant user, a native Russian speaker, a fluent ASL user, and can communicate in at least 5 languages. Her daily experience with deafness, accessibility barriers, education in different schools, different countries, and different languages, interaction with non-disabled people, and living in another country gives people an exceptional insight into her professional experience and expertise in accessibility.
