Asha Sairam is a Principal at Studio Lotus, a New Delhi-based multidisciplinary design practice founded in 2002. Spanning the domains of Master planning, Architecture, and Interior Design, the work of the award-winning practice is grounded on the principles of Conscious Design—an approach that celebrates local resources, cultural influences, an inclusive process, and keen attention to detail.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (New Delhi), Asha worked as a set and graphic designer for several years before joining Studio Lotus. Her portfolio comprises a diverse range of projects—including retail and brand identity development, hospitality and F&B experiences, corporate interiors, exhibitions, and installation design.
Presently, Asha leads the Hospitality Design vertical for the practice. Some of her most significant projects include the design of Masti Cocktails & Cuisine, a restaurant in Jumeirah, Dubai—the studio’s first international hospitality project, which has won several accolades; the adaptive reuse of an 18-century palace into a contemporary hotel at RAAS Devigarh, Udaipur; the corporate interiors for the Indian law firm Trilegal in Gurugram, which explores how craft can breathe new life into the design of workspaces; and the recently completed flagship store for the lifestyle retail brand Jaypore in Bengaluru.
A 40 Under 40 honouree at the Perspective Global Design Awards 2019, Asha is an active member of the Indian design fraternity and regularly participates in panel discussions and conferences to represent the practice globally.
