Naa Marteki Reed is a User Experience Design Fellow at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a government agency built to ensure banks, lenders, and other financial service providers treat consumers fairly. While serving as a user experience researcher and product designer, Marteki works on products that span across the financial marketplace and affect various points of consumers’ lives. She most recently helped launch the Planning for Retirement tool, which helps Americans explore and pick their right time to claim Social Security retirement benefits. Marteki’s first paying job was as a DHTML developer, and she still occasionally gets her hands involved in JavaScript or CSS. She lives in Oak Park, IL with her husband and two young children.
